Unending
What happens to your faith when your generation is gone?
Will the faith we carry today still be alive in the people who come after us? Or could faith slowly fade if we fail to pray, persist, and remain steadfast?
In Week 1 of Unending Faith, we look at Luke 18:1-8 and one of the most challenging questions Jesus ever asked:
“Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
Why would Jesus ask that question? Could faith actually fade from one generation to the next? And if so, what can we do about it?
Through the story of a persistent widow, Jesus gives us a picture of what enduring faith looks like: prayer, persistence, and steadfastness. Faith that keeps coming back. Faith that keeps trusting. Faith that continues to stand firm even when we can't see what God is doing.
But this isn't just about keeping our own faith alive.
What are we passing on?
Are we passing down our faith with the same intentionality that we pass down our values, passions, and traditions?
And what happens if faith dies with us?
Because faith isn't proven by what we say we believe. Faith is revealed by what we're willing to put our weight on.
So the question isn't simply, “Do you have faith?”
Will your faith be strong enough to outlive you?
